
Arefa has 15 years of combined experience working in clinical, school-based, and private therapy settings. Upon completion of her clinical work and earning her Master of Art degree in speech-language pathology from CUNY Queens College, a leading program in the field, Arefa worked in specialized schools across NYC in various roles, including as a department head for 5 years. She simultaneously maintained a small, private practice treating preschool age children in their homes. Arefa is also trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding, a developmental feeding therapy program. Her areas of expertise include speech and language delays, autism spectrum disorder, learning disabilities and ADHD. Arefa is recognized as an expert in her field and has presented on a range of language-based topics.
